Android Engineer, Government Products

About the Role

Robinhood's Government Products team builds and scales systems supporting long-term investing and account management for millions of customers. Robinhood has been selected as the brokerage and initial trustee for Trump Accounts and is working alongside BNY and the U.S. Department of Treasury to develop and operate the program.

As an Android Engineer, you will help build intuitive, secure, and scalable mobile experiences for this initiative, supporting a standalone web and app experience that expands market access for the next generation of Americans.

Location

• Based in New York, NY, with in-person office attendance expected at least three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Build smooth, stable, and elegant products using Kotlin and the newest Android APIs.
• Own features from inception through design, implementation, and launch.
• Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, Backend Developers, and the Data team.
• Work with Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Coroutines and Flow (preferred) or RxJava, and Retrofit and Room.

Qualifications

• At least three years of professional Android development experience building consumer Android applications at scale, preferably using Kotlin and Compose.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java, and Jetpack.
• Attention to detail and a passion for clean, readable, maintainable code.
• Desire to improve Robinhood's app and codebase to ensure outstanding quality for all users.
• Strong product sense and the ability to collaborate with Product Managers and Designers.
• Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for solving technical challenges.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent training or work experience is also acceptable.

Compensation and Benefits

• New York / Zone 1 annual base pay: $166,000–$195,000 USD.
• Zone 2 annual base pay: $147,000–$172,000 USD for Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; and Chicago, IL.
• Zone 3 annual base pay: $130,000–$152,000 USD for Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; and Gainesville, FL.
• Actual base pay depends on factors including education, training, experience, location, business needs, and market demands.
