Staff Product Manager, AI
Brex
New York, Ny · hybrid · full time · Staff
$240,000 - $300,000
About the Role
The AI team is working to give every finance admin two people they can't hire today: an auditor and a business analyst.
- The auditor: An agent that reads a company's own expense policy and audit rules and reviews every transaction against them.
- The business analyst: An agent that answers questions asked in plain language against real spend data and turns them into reports.
As a PM on Finance Admin AI, you'll take point on one of these with end-to-end ownership. You will set its product direction, decide which capabilities to build and how they should behave, and spend time with controllers and finance teams to learn what they'll trust an agent to do.
Location & Work Arrangement
This role is based in either San Francisco, Seattle, or New York City. You must be willing to work in the office at least three days per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Remote work is allowed up to 4 weeks per year, in increments of at least one week.
Responsibilities
- Own product direction for your area of the Finance Admin AI surface — the strategy, the roadmap, and day-to-day shipping decisions.
- Translate complex, company-specific finance workflows (expense policies, review/approval chains, month-end close) into reliable agent behavior in production.
- Define "good judgment" for an agent operating on financial data; build evals, prompting approaches, and feedback loops.
- Prototype, measure, read transcripts and traces, and iterate toward what works.
- Earn autonomy incrementally: determine where the agent should recommend vs. act.
- Work directly with finance admins at real companies, letting usage drive iterations.
- Set and defend a high quality bar for agents operating in a trust-critical financial context.
Requirements
- Track record of owning complex, user-facing products end-to-end as an experienced product manager.
- Experience building B2B customer-facing software for administrative personas (finance, accounting, HR, payroll, IT, compliance, data).
- Depth in company workflows or in data and reporting, with genuine interest in the other.
- Technical depth working on probabilistic, optimization-driven systems without a single correct answer (AI/ML, search and ranking, marketplace matching, risk/fraud detection).
- High tolerance for ambiguity and comfortable prototyping, reading data, and diving into technical details.
- Strong product taste and judgment.
Nice to Have
- Experience shipping agentic software or building agents that real users depended on.
- Hands-on depth in prompting or eval design.
- Familiarity with fintech, expense management, or accounting workflows.
Benefits
Equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package. Remote work is allowed up to 4 weeks per year (in increments of at least one week).
