The Opportunity

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Engineering team. You will help build and maintain automated testing infrastructure, collaborate across engineering teams, and scale test automation capabilities across UI, API, and integration layers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites using modern automation frameworks across UI, API, and integration layers.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Work with engineers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into comprehensive test plans.
  • Perform manual testing as needed to support product verification and user acceptance testing.
  • Investigate and debug test failures, production incidents, and flaky tests, communicating findings clearly.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated tests run reliably on every build.
  • Help build and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes) supporting test environments.
  • Document test strategies, coverage gaps, and known issues clearly.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with a remote-friendly, distributed team.

Qualifications

Required

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or closely related field.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience writing and maintaining automated tests using frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, TypeScript, or equivalent) with clean, readable coding habits.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and benefit from code reviews.
  • Demonstrated debugging skills to isolate root causes across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and data layers.
  • Working knowledge of AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, ECS, Lambda) and containerized environments.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes for deploying, managing, or observing services in test or staging environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Background in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industry software development.
  • Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, CircleCI, or similar).
  • Exposure to performance, load, or security testing practices.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
