Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering – Strategic (Auth0)

Okta seeks a leader for its Auth0 Solutions Engineering team serving its highest-value and highest-potential enterprise customers. Reporting to the Senior Director, AMER Presales Strategic Accounts, this role leads technical presales strategy for complex Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) transformations and partners with Strategic Sales leadership on multi-year technical roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor approximately 10 Senior and Principal Solutions Engineers specializing in Auth0. Own recruiting, onboarding, and professional development across developer-led evaluations and executive architectural discussions.
• Standardize technical sales playbooks for legacy user database migrations, omnichannel authentication, social and passwordless login, bot and fraud mitigation, and high-throughput peak events.
• Oversee technical validations, proofs of concept, and architectural reviews for high-concurrency, mission-critical applications. Establish metrics for evaluation efficiency, technical win rates, and customer time-to-value.
• Serve as executive technical sponsor on Tier-1 opportunities, building advisory relationships with customer executives while balancing developer experience, consumer friction, and security.
• Translate enterprise customer requirements into feedback for Auth0 Product and Engineering teams.
• Partner with Strategic Sales on Command of the Message and MEDDPICC methodologies. Collaborate with Operations, Enablement, HR, and Finance on workforce planning, technical development, headcount, and budgets.

Qualifications

• Substantial presales or architectural experience in CIAM, developer platforms, or consumer-facing digital identity ecosystems.
• At least 4 years directly managing and scaling technical presales or solutions engineering teams within enterprise SaaS.
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, Passkeys/WebAuthn, JWT, API security, and token management, plus exposure to mobile and web SDK integrations.
• Ability to address large-scale architectural challenges, including multi-region identity routing, tenant isolation, session management, and GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and HIPAA compliance.
• Demonstrated success applying value-based selling methodologies to complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, executive presence, and experience influencing cross-functional executive teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 12 years of technical presales, solutions architecture, or professional services experience in enterprise security or software development.
• Hands-on full-stack web/mobile application development, API design, or modern cloud architecture experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience analyzing or competing within the IAM and CIAM landscape.
• Familiarity with web application firewalls, bot management/fraud detection, customer data platforms, and CRM ecosystems.

Location and Work Arrangement

• Listed locations: Bellevue, WA; Chicago, IL; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; and Washington, DC.
• Employees living within 50 miles of an Okta office must work in the office 2 days per week. Other locations are remote.
• Onboarding includes an immersive, in-person experience.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual on-target compensation (OTE): $252,000–$347,000 USD for candidates in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington.
• This range includes base salary and incentive compensation; it is not a base-salary-only range. Actual OTE depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
