About the Role

This full-time Technical Support Engineer role is intended for university graduates in 2027. Based on-site in San Mateo, CA, five days per week, you will support enterprise customers across Verkada's cloud-managed building security products. You will work independently and collaboratively to resolve technical issues and advise customers, reporting to a Technical Support Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex network, hardware, and software problems on Verkada's platform.
• Develop product expertise and advise customers on system design and integration.
• Explain technical concepts clearly through phone calls, live chat, and email.
• Own customer issues from initial report through resolution.
• Partner with Engineering and Product teams to test new hardware and identify bugs.
• Write Knowledge Base content for users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited university in a related technical discipline: Networking, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
• Coursework focused on computer networking, Linux, electronics, and computer systems.
• Ability to communicate complex technical matters orally and in writing.
• Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Python or other programming language knowledge.
• Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, or Network+; certifications are not required.

Compensation and Benefits

• Estimated hourly base pay: $46–$50 USD. Actual starting pay may be above or below this range based on location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity.
