Staff Software Engineer, Frontend

As part of Tech @ Ro, you'll work on systems that operate at scale, with an opportunity to solve complex, high-concurrency problems across a full-stack platform, build and ship quickly with tight feedback loops, and own systems end-to-end from architecture to production performance.

What You'll Do

• Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of new features across our patient and provider web experiences, which support millions of members and the providers who care for them
• Build realtime, visually engaging, intuitive interfaces that help patients seamlessly achieve their health goals and enable providers to deliver care efficiently and safely
• Operate as an owner within your team's domain, proactively assessing and improving application performance, accessibility, and reliability
• Drive engineering excellence through best practices in testing, monitoring, observability, and performance optimization
• Actively contribute to the team's architectural vision and technical roadmap
• Collaborate on code reviews and technical design documents to ensure consistent application of best practices across the frontend platform
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers from adjacent teams to influence the roadmap and ship cohesive, high-quality experiences
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the reliability of production systems

What You'll Bring to the Team

• Demonstrated experience building accessible, visually engaging web applications with an eye for intuitive user-facing experiences
• Proficiency with React and TypeScript, plus a strong grasp of UI architecture and client-side performance
• Comfort working at scale in a monorepo with a shared design system (TanStack Query, React Aria, Playwright/Storybook-driven testing; strong fundamentals matter more than prior experience with the exact stack)
• Hands-on experience with metrics instrumentation and data-driven performance tuning, using qualitative user feedback and quantitative analytics to identify opportunities
• A strong sense of ownership for your work, from initial technical design and implementation through to post-launch monitoring
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineers, product managers, and product designers to create the best possible products
• Genuine care for the user experience and the ability to assess the right solution to achieve product and design goals
