Lead Product Manager, Security Trailers

Verkada

San Mateo, Ca · on site · full time · Lead

$205,000 - $240,000

About the Role

Verkada's edge products push boundaries, securing people and property in places where no building infrastructure exists: construction sites, parking lots, substations, campuses, and events. Our Security Trailers and connectivity hardware bring Verkada's AI threat detection, deterrence, and operational insights anywhere they're needed.

We are looking for a Lead Product Manager to own Verkada's Trailer Product Line. Your mission is to make turn-key edge deployments as reliable and easy to manage as anything inside the building. This role requires you to work onsite at our HQ in San Mateo, CA.

What You'll Do

  • Own strategy and execution for Verkada's Security Trailer Product line.
  • Deliver the trailer platform's core promise: continuous off-grid uptime with zero site infrastructure. Push solar, battery, and cellular intelligence until the trailer runs itself, then expand into new form factors and use cases.
  • Own the commercial model for the trailer business: pricing and packaging, hardware-plus-license economics, data plans, and new acquisition options such as financing, leasing, or trailer-as-a-service.
  • Grow and shape the Qualified Trailer Partner channel with Sales and Channel teams, defining what partners sell, install, and service, and how Verkada supports them.
  • Work with manufacturing partners and supply chain on reliability, cost, and serviceability, turning field learnings into hardware and software improvements.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in hardware, IoT, or connected-device products.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven history of launching and scaling hardware and embedded-systems products. Strong customer intuition, technical depth, and ability to navigate tradeoffs are critical in this role.
  • Working knowledge of power systems (solar, batteries, PoE) and networking fundamentals (LTE/5G, Wi-Fi, WAN failover, SIM/carrier management), plus foundational knowledge of firmware, device bring-up, and hardware design.
  • Ability to build platform and recurring-revenue business models, with a structured approach to ambiguous problems like product + install pricing, channel partnerships, and ROI analysis.
  • Excited to roll up your sleeves and get out of the office to spend time with installers, integrators, and customers deploying in unwired environments.

Benefits

100% employer-covered healthcare premiums for employees (80% family), medical, vision, dental, 401(k) match starting 2027, HSA/FSA, paid parental leave, flexible PTO, professional development stipend, wellness perks, daily lunches, and commuter benefits.
