Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

Talkspace is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale core applications and services powering our platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on full-stack engineer looking to build 0 to 1, partnering closely with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders.

*Note: Candidates must be based in Eastern Time.*

Responsibilities

• Write correct and consistent code using knowledge and expertise across backend, frontend, and DevOps.
• Develop and maintain full-stack web applications using React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend.
• Design, build, and integrate APIs and backend services to support product functionality and system integrations.
• Review code efficiently and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay informed of upcoming industry trends and standards.
• Communicate and justify technical decisions via design docs, tech talks, and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers via pairing, feedback, PR reviews, and 1:1s.
• Communicate effectively cross-functionally with Product, management, and business stakeholders.
• Proactively identify requirement issues and communicate risks to stakeholders.
• Deliver complex, bug-free products to QA and enforce quality standards across projects.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for delivering production-ready features.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of professional experience developing software.
• 5+ years of professional experience working with both React and Node.js.
