Senior Software Engineer, Creator Services Translation

About the Role

The Creator Service Translation team owns a broad spectrum of localization sources including text, images, audio, and the full localization pipeline for content detection, translation, serving, and rendering. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and build highly scalable systems to help creators continuously deliver native, seamless experiences. You will help expand language families and locales, support real-time localization, enrich translation media types, and advance translation quality across Roblox.

Responsibilities

• Tackle and solve challenging full-stack problems spanning the client, game engine, backend services, and machine learning models.
• Own product areas and projects from technical design, execution, launch, and rapid iteration based on feedback.
• Work closely with product, design, and partner teams to maintain high execution quality and pace.
• Proactively gather community feedback and respond swiftly to needs to ensure products deliver value.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing and leading the implementation of highly scalable and reliable distributed backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with microservices.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, C++, Go, Python, or similar.
• Strong cross-functional teamwork and project driving capabilities.
• A long-term mindset for technical architecture and system design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of C++.
• Familiarity with game engines.
• Familiarity with machine learning.
