Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Ads

About the Role

With Roblox’s daily active users growing at a record pace, we are seeking experienced machine learning engineers who thrive on solving complex challenges and designing scalable, groundbreaking solutions. In this role, you will develop deep learning-based models for our performance advertising business, laying the foundation to deliver effective ads to our users and measurable value to advertisers.

You will build innovative machine-learning solutions to power ad ranking algorithms and personalized advertising experiences, shaping and developing a world-class, ML-driven advertising platform from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design and implementation of machine learning solutions for ad ranking algorithms.
• Design and implement large-scale recommendation models.
• Author specs for new features and improvements.
• Collaborate with other teams across Roblox to build products with a community-first approach.
• Balance researching new technologies with a practical approach to incorporate research into Roblox products.
• Communicate with industry and communities where applicable and serve as an ambassador for Roblox.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of experience designing and building scalable machine learning solutions for real-world production use cases.
• Machine Learning: Experience with transformer-based model training, inference, and product integration is a plus.
• Education: BS in Computer Science or a related discipline; advanced degrees are a definite plus.
• Leadership: Track record of initiating and facilitating challenging technical decisions across multiple teams and organizations.
• Mindset: Strong user-first orientation, strategic problem-solving abilities, and a drive to simplify complex technical challenges.
