User Experience Researcher, Platform

About the Role

UX research at Anthropic works across products used by millions of people, on interactions that don't have established conventions yet. We inform critical decisions through rigorous research, working closely with curious, open-minded stakeholders. We combine qualitative and quantitative methods to understand user needs, move fast, favor impact over polish, and build our own tools leveraging Claude.

This role is on the Platform research team, embedded in Anthropic's Platform organization (API, agent and connector infrastructure, Console, SDKs, and documentation). This is a senior individual-contributor role with autonomy to decide where research can make the biggest difference and lead that work.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with Platform's leaders and teams to understand user research needs for people building on Claude, decide priorities, and own the research agenda.
• Design and run research using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Study developers, teams, enterprise builders, administrators, and buyers.
• Communicate findings to product managers, designers, and engineers, following them through to product decisions.
• Build tools and infrastructure using Claude to keep pace with the platform, inventing new methods as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Industry UX research experience independently scoping, designing, running, and reporting end-to-end studies.
• Mixed-methods expertise: interviewing technical users, and designing and analyzing surveys rigorously.
• Technical background: experience as a software engineer, a sustained body of developer-experience research (APIs, SDKs, dev tools), or a track record researching deeply technical products.
• Hands-on use of AI in your research workflow and tooling.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of industry UX research experience.
• Experience setting research strategy for a product or product area impacting high-level strategic direction.
• Experience embedding with and influencing fast-shipping, engineering-led teams.
• Excellent storytelling tailored to audiences from individual engineers to organizational leaders.
• Experience building with AI using coding tools and agents.
• Experience researching pricing, packaging, or value perception for usage-based/developer products.
• Background in API-ecosystem or developer-platform research.
