IT Systems Engineer, M&A
Anthropic
Boston, Ma · hybrid · full time
$325,000 - $360,000
About the Role
Anthropic's Corporate Systems team runs the core collaboration platforms everyone here works in and builds the tooling and automation behind IT. That responsibility extends to the companies we acquire. Their people, devices, and systems have to come into Anthropic securely.
You'll own the IT side of Anthropic's acquisitions: due diligence, integration planning, and integration. Before close, you'll assess a company's IT environment and give the deal team a clear read on risk and effort. You'll define the technical integration plan and its requirements: what moves, where it lands, in what order, what has to be ready on day one, and how each security gap gets closed. After close, you'll carry out that plan and bring the company's people, devices, and systems onto our stack. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will hold admin, write code, build automation, run cutovers, and partner with Security, Corporate Development, Legal, People, and Finance.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical IT due diligence: assess identity, applications, endpoints, and infrastructure, briefing the deal team on risk and effort before close.
- Identify gaps between an acquired environment and Anthropic's security model, rate them, and build mitigations into the integration plan.
- Define technical integration plans and requirements regarding sequencing, landing architecture, and day-one readiness.
- Run integrations by taking over administration, migrating users, devices, and data, and retiring legacy systems with support from IT Engineering teams.
- Partner with Business Technology, Client Platform, Corporate Network, IT Operations, and Security teams.
- Keep Corporate Development, Legal, People, Finance, and acquired company teams aligned on IT progress.
- Build a repeatable IT M&A playbook and automate workflows using Claude.
- Contribute to core Corporate Systems roadmap projects when M&A workload is light.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years as a hands-on engineer in corporate IT, designing, shipping, and owning systems, integrations, or migrations end-to-end across identity, applications, endpoints, or corporate infrastructure.
- Experience administering enterprise identity and collaboration platforms (such as Google Workspace, Slack, and SSO providers) and writing working code in Python or similar against SaaS APIs.
- Working knowledge of endpoint management and security concepts sufficient to lead diligence on unfamiliar fleets.
- Ability to assess unfamiliar IT environments quickly and communicate prioritized risk views to non-specialists.
- Proven track record leading multi-team technical projects to fixed deadlines while performing core engineering work.
- Comfort working autonomously, handling ambiguity, and managing confidential information.
- Clear communication skills with executives, legal, corporate development, and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior M&A, carve-out, or company-to-company migration experience.
- Broad experience across endpoints, systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience managing a device fleet or administering an MDM.
- Experience working within or alongside information security teams.
- Track record of building tooling to automate manual IT processes.
- Experience incorporating Claude or modern AI tools into daily workflows.
Benefits
Anthropic offers competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, and flexible working hours.
