Senior Software Engineer - C++

About the Role

Verkada is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop camera features and system software across our edge devices.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with the hardware team to develop camera features in C++ and Python.
• Lead code reviews, debugging, and bug fixes.
• Experiment and test with new development boards.
• Make regular contributions to existing codebase to push new features OTA on a frequent basis.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science (or similar degree)
• 5+ years of software development experience for Linux in system programming languages (C, C++, Rust, etc.)
• Proficient in modern C++
• Experience in embedded development or low-level system software development
• Strong knowledge of operating systems and computer architecture
• Familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, etc.)
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Willingness and ability to work onsite five days per week

Nice to Have

• Experience in Machine Learning or Computer Vision
• Experience in heterogeneous computing (GPU, DSP, or other coprocessor/accelerator)
