Technical Support Engineer (TSE) Intern

Role

Tanium is seeking a Technical Support Engineer (TSE) Intern to support its enterprise customer organization. Interns help resolve technical issues, answer customer questions, and improve customer satisfaction through individual mentorship, team triage, and shadowing.

Location and Schedule

• Hybrid in Bellevue, WA or Emeryville, CA, with at least three days per week in the office.
• Full-time availability required from June 7, 2027 through August 13, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Work with a dedicated TSE mentor on customer problems involving security, operations, asset management, and risk management.
• Help triage technical issues, engage customers, and conduct root cause analysis on live Tanium production implementations.
• Support security work involving forensics, cyber threat intelligence, and incident response; operational work involving compliance, vulnerability scanning, patching, and integrity monitoring; and general automation.
• Assist customers with Tanium platform and module upgrades.
• Partner with other TSEs on assigned cases.
• Shape, execute, and deliver special projects with fellow interns.
• Learn how Tanium technology works and how to support, operate, and integrate it.
• Document best practices, track activity, record root causes, and complete accurate reports.
• Rigorously test the product in a home lab environment.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future.
• Current undergraduate enrollment in a college or university.
• Expected graduation in December 2027 or Spring 2028.
• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• Some experience with endpoints, networking, or operating systems/servers.
• Passion for providing an excellent customer experience.
• Ability to work independently with good judgment and attention to detail.
• IT helpdesk experience preferred; other customer-facing experience is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

• Estimated hourly rate: $30.00. Actual pay may vary based on education, skills, training, experience, and other factors.
• Interns are eligible for 401(k) matching and a monthly communications reimbursement allowance.
• Five days of volunteer time off, with interns eligible after 90 days of employment.
