Physical Security Associate, Events

About the Role

Verkada is seeking a Physical Security Associate, Events to join its Global Security Team. The role develops, implements, and oversees security programs for company-related events, from smaller field events to large company and third-party conferences.

Partner with marketing and events teams to translate plans into security requirements and attend events to oversee implementation. Outside the event calendar, support protective services, insider threat and threat intelligence programs, and executive protection.

Verkada accepts both in-office and remote candidates. Headquarters are in San Mateo, California. Candidates must be willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Partner with marketing and events teams to scope security requirements and assess risks for internal, customer-facing, and executive-attended events.
• Build and execute end-to-end security plans, including site assessments, guard and vendor staffing, and credentialing/access plans.
• Serve as the on-site security contact before, during, and after events, managing issues in real time.
• Travel to supervise event security and support physical security operations at Verkada locations as needed.
• Support daily physical security operations, including access administration, investigations, and incident response.
• Conduct security audits to identify and close physical security coverage gaps at remote locations.
• Coordinate with executive protection and physical security teams outside the event calendar.
• Monitor internal and external threats and assess potential risks.
• Produce threat briefs before high-profile events, executive travel, or company announcements.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of corporate or physical security experience; direct experience planning security for corporate events, VIP visits, or high-profile gatherings is ideal.
• Comfort managing live events and daily physical security operations.
• Ability to turn vague or incomplete requirements into actionable security plans.
• Strong communication skills with stakeholders ranging from event planners and executives to on-site security guards.
• Calm, detail-oriented execution under pressure, particularly with credentialing and vendor logistics.
• Access control and video security systems experience is a plus.
• PSP, CPP, or similar relevant certification is preferred, not required.

Compensation

Estimated annual on-target earnings are $102,000–$140,000 USD, comprising base compensation and commissions, if applicable. Starting pay considers location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additional compensation may include role-dependent sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and restricted stock units.
