Associate Product Manager, Data Governance

The Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS) team seeks an Associate Product Manager to contribute to the operational execution and strategic evolution of its Enterprise Data Governance Program. The role helps make enterprise data trustworthy, compliant, and discoverable as Toast scales its AI and data capabilities.

• Location: Remote, US.

Responsibilities

• Build dashboards to monitor adherence to data requirements across the organization.
• Support Data Governance Council working sessions and serve as a subject matter expert for the enterprise Business Glossary.
• Partner with the data catalog team to streamline metadata standards and automate data discovery across business platforms and analytics tools.
• Develop governance documentation, stewardship training materials, and standard operating procedures to support consistent practices across domains.
• Research emerging data management frameworks and AI governance best practices to enhance enterprise data policies.
• Own governance dashboards, proactive compliance monitoring, and data quality tracking to maintain data foundation reliability.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Analytics, Legal, and other partners to translate business definitions into technical metadata specifications.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional experience in data governance, data management, product management, or analytics.
• Proven experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake and dbt, and data catalogs such as DataHub, Alation, and Atlan, focused on enterprise metadata and stewardship deployments.
• Demonstrated ability to implement data governance frameworks, business glossaries, and data domain models for core enterprise applications.
• Solid understanding of data management standards and best practices, metrics standardization, and metadata curation.
• SQL experience for governance reporting, analytics, and data quality analysis.
• Excellent analytical and verbal communication skills, including communicating complex governance policies and leading cross-functional workshops for technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification or active coursework toward certification.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, GDPR, and CCPA, or data management frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK.
• Experience with data observability platforms such as Monte Carlo and Great Expectations, or AI governance models.
• Prior experience in B2B SaaS, restaurant technology, or a fast-paced product company.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual base salary ranges vary by geographic pay zone:

• Zone A: $105,000–$168,000 USD.
• Zone B: $91,000–$146,000 USD.
• Zone C: $82,000–$131,000 USD.
