Unity Developer - Internal Tools

Axon

Seattle, Wa · hybrid · full time

$106,500 - $170,400

Your Impact

The Axon VR team is building immersive training experiences that help officers develop greater empathy, improve decision making under pressure, and enhance community engagement. As a Software Engineer on our Engineering team, you will help build and maintain the internal tools and infrastructure that let every team work faster, more predictably, and with greater confidence.

This is an L6 role for a focused problem solver. You will break down and solve well defined tasks end to end, build familiarity with our technology stack and domain, and begin to see how your work connects to product and customer outcomes. You will work with regular guidance from senior engineers and grow toward owning complete features.

What You'll Do

  • Build and improve internal tools, platforms, and frameworks that reduce friction for developers, working from well defined tasks and features with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Contribute to the CI/CD systems that automate build, test, and deployment workflows. Make scoped changes to pipelines, fix failures, and help keep runs reliable.
  • Build and maintain tooling that supports functional, integration, and performance testing, and write automated tests for your own work.
  • Help create dashboards, alerts, and monitoring that show system health, deployment status, and pipeline performance, and use them to investigate issues with support from senior engineers.
  • Work with engineers, QA, and other teams to understand workflow problems, gather requirements, and confirm that your solutions work for them.
  • Write and update documentation, onboarding materials, and best practices so teams can adopt and maintain internal tools.
  • Collect user feedback, try small improvements, and iterate on the tools you work on. Share what you learn with teammates and grow toward owning complete features.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in software development or infrastructure engineering, including internships or substantial project work.
  • Hands on experience building applications in Unity, with a willingness to deepen your skills on customer facing products.
  • Solid C# fundamentals, with good class design and a growing understanding of system architecture.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD systems, build automation, and deployment workflows, or a strong interest in learning them quickly.
  • Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and diagnostics, and the ability to use them to track down the root cause of issues.
  • Experience writing automated tests, and curiosity about test frameworks and test execution platforms.
  • Comfort using agentic AI tools while applying sound judgment to review and validate what they produce.
  • An interest in developer experience, usability, and reducing operational toil.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, and comfort working with technical teams that have different needs and backgrounds.
  • A sense of ownership, a habit of seeking feedback, and a drive to grow your skills and scope over time.
