About the Role
As a Principal Technical Program Manager for Practice Solutions at Zocdoc, you will own and drive the most complex, cross-functional technical programs across the business unit—initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams and product domains that no single team can deliver alone.
Practice Solutions powers healthcare practice operations across phone, web, marketplace, and partner syndication channels. This includes Zo (an AI phone assistant), provider directory and booking platforms, intake and pre-appointment workflows, calendar and scheduling experiences, and availability synchronization services.
Responsibilities
- Organize and lead the business unit's planning cadence, aligning engineering and product inputs to turn strategy into a committed, sequenced roadmap.
- Lead large, multi-quarter platform initiatives across the Practice Solutions product scope, keeping programs on schedule.
- Translate high-level business and product goals into structured program plans with clear milestones, sequencing, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.
- Build reporting and mechanisms to provide leadership with transparent visibility into status, dependencies, and risks.
- Partner with senior engineering leadership to surface and mitigate architectural and operational risks early.
- Triage technical issues across team boundaries, framing problems and engaging architects and engineers for resolution.
- Surface tradeoffs between speed, scope, reliability, and technical debt to facilitate sound decision-making.
- Clarify ownership boundaries to reduce cross-team friction.
- Communicate program status, risks, and strategic decisions clearly to executive stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years in Technical Program Management, Engineering Program Management, or a similar technical leadership role.
- Track record of delivering large-scale, cross-functional initiatives in a product-led SaaS environment.

- Excellent communication skills, including clear written status reporting and risk framing for executives and engineers.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent practical experience.
