What You'll Do
Our QA Engineers work with product owners, developers, and QA management to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan testing coverage for upcoming features and releases. In this role, you will:
- Work with QA analysts, QA management, product owners, and other developers to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, plan test coverage, and, crucially, build tooling and automation to improve efficiency across the team
- Examine technical gaps and automation initiatives to ensure quality for both Unreal Engine and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) developer tools and build
- Build and drive test strategies and test plans to cover multiple features in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Use a mix of technical and manual QA skills to execute a variety of testing techniques across the product to analyze quality while discovering or troubleshooting reported defects and internal issues
- Leverage AI-assisted tools to speed up test plan, automation, and strategy where possible
- Report and track data quality and use that data to drive conversations around product quality and development health, supporting the dev team before, during, and after deployments
- Test communications between the client and backend services
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience and demonstrated skills in writing test automation or QA tools, as well as reading code or scripts in multiple languages (C++/C#/Python)
- Experience developing test plans and risk mitigation strategies
- Experience using AI tools and judgement about when their output can be trusted
- QA cross-team project or feature leadership, including mentoring more junior employees, providing cross-team QA plans, and owning test quality improvements (gap analysis or optimization efforts)
- QA Engineer skills & strengths at a senior level, which includes strong communication skills and ability to confidently collaborate with stakeholders and partner teams, provide mentorship, lead projects, and deliver high-quality work products
- Ability to identify and suggest ways to improve, optimize, and close testing gaps
