Senior Network Security Engineer | Zero Trust Architecture

Overview

Elastic is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (VPN/VDI) to take charge of designing, deploying, and managing multi-cloud network and VDI infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to drive automation and implement Zero Trust security, ensuring systems remain reliable and scalable.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design a robust multi-cloud network architecture supporting growing infrastructure needs; create detailed network diagrams and documentation.
• Evaluate and select networking technologies, while implementing and optimizing routing protocols for efficiency.
• Develop plans for network scalability and maintain Meraki networks to ensure reliable performance.
• Assist in deploying VPN and VDI solutions within a multi-cloud environment, supporting integration efforts and training junior engineers/support staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for smooth implementation of network services and provide on-call support.
• Monitor network performance metrics, analyze traffic patterns, and execute performance tuning adjustments.
• Implement Zero Trust security principles across network infrastructure; conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
• Deploy and manage network security tools, monitor traffic for suspicious activity, and respond promptly to incidents.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues within VPN and VDI infrastructure using network diagnostic tools; maintain ticketing logs and documentation.
• Maintain detailed configuration documentation, update architectural diagrams, and develop standard operating procedures.
• Oversee the design, deployment, configuration, and user access controls for VDI infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with network engineering in a multi-cloud environment.
• 3+ years of experience with VPN and VDI technologies.
• Proficiency in designing multi-cloud network architecture.
• Experience with Meraki network management.
• Skilled in conducting security assessments and vulnerability scans.
• Knowledge of network performance monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities.
• Ability to diagnose and address VPN connectivity issues and perform network performance tuning.
• Proficiency in managing VDI infrastructure and user access controls.
• Experience with maintaining Aviatrix.
• Track record of successful implementation of complex multi-cloud network architecture and optimized VPN/VDI deployments.
• Demonstrated improvement in network security posture through Zero Trust implementations.
