Senior Physical Security Systems Engineer

Crusoe

Denver, Co · on site · full time · Senior

$150,000 - $180,000

About the Role

Crusoe is building the infrastructure that powers the AI revolution — data centers, power generation, manufacturing, construction, and corporate offices expanding across North America. The physical security technology stack protecting those sites has to perform at SLA at all times.

The Senior Physical Security Systems Engineer owns the standards, SLAs, and ongoing performance of that stack. You set the standards our Design and Construction team deploys against, validate deployed systems at acceptance, and own the configuration, integration health, and lifecycle management of the stack once sites go live. You will work closely with the GSOC, Senior Physical Security Intelligence Analyst, Protective Operations, Design and Construction, IT, and Network Engineering.

What You'll Be Working On

  • Set and own the physical security systems standards that the Design and Construction team deploys against; validate systems at acceptance and own the operational handoff into production
  • Define and own SLAs for platform availability, camera uptime, access control responsiveness, alarm quality, and integration health
  • Operate access control, video management, intrusion detection, visitor management, and incident platforms at configuration depth
  • Build and maintain integrations across the stack and with Ontic, Active Directory, and mass notification; script automation for health monitoring, SLA reporting, and lifecycle tasks
  • Partner with Network Engineering, IT, and OT on VLAN segmentation, bandwidth, cert management, Active Directory integration, and device hardening
  • Own firmware strategy, patch management, device lifecycle, tech refresh, and health monitoring dashboards across the footprint
  • Ensure systems generate the audit evidence supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, NERC CIP, and customer contractual requirements; partner with GRC on audit cycles
  • Coordinate with the GSOC on system health and operator tooling; partner with the Intelligence Analyst on Ontic deployment; support Protective Operations on executive protection and event systems; support crisis and incident response involving physical security systems

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • 7+ years operating enterprise physical security systems at operator depth
  • Hands-on fluency with access control platforms (Lenel, Genetec, Genea, or similar system) and video management systems (Genetec, Milestone, Ambient, or similar system)
  • Strong IT and networking fluency — VLAN segmentation, bandwidth planning, cert management, Active Directory integration, firmware and patch strategy, device hardening
  • Experience setting operational standards and SLAs and holding systems accountable to them across distributed, multi-site operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication across technical and executive audiences
  • Ability to collaborate across the GSOC, Protective Operations, Intelligence, Design and Construction, IT, and Network Engineering
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 20–35% and respond outside normal business hours when significant situations require support

Bonus Points

  • Hyperscale data center, critical infrastructure, power generation, or technology environment experience
  • NERC CIP compliance experience
  • Advanced scripting, API, or automation experience applied to physical security systems
  • Prior experience at Meta, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Equinix, Digital Realty, CyrusOne, Vantage, Tesla, SpaceX, Apple, or a peer organization
  • Vendor-side or integrator-side senior engineering experience with a desire to move to a client-side operator role
  • Military signals, communications, OT engineering, or physical security MOS translation
  • Certifications: PSP, CPP, platform-specific (Genetec, Lenel, Milestone, Verkada, Ambient), network (CCNA, Security+, or peer)

Operating Conditions

  • Denver on-site with domestic travel of approximately 20–35%
  • On-call availability for critical systems events, SLA breaches, and major incidents
  • Occasional nights, weekends, and holidays as the operational tempo demands
  • Handling of sensitive security systems, access data, video content, and company information with discretion is a core expectation

Benefits

Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; HSA employer contributions; 401(k) match up to 4%; equity/RSUs; paid time off, holidays, and parental leave; life and disability insurance; tuition reimbursement; commuter benefits and cell phone stipend; meal allowance.
