Senior Software Engineer

Social Finance, LLC (SoFi) seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Seattle, WA. SoFi is a financial services company and national bank using mobile-first technology to help members achieve their financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and testing of system components and services, including code and design reviews.
• Help shape the product's technical architecture.
• Translate user stories into technical solutions.
• Deliver highly available, scalable services in a production environment.
• Mentor engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the team.
• Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies.
• Communicate with project leads, product managers, and other software developers.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering in any field, or a related quantitative discipline, and three years of experience in the offered job or a related occupation.
• Any suitable combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.
• Software engineering proficiency covering object-oriented programming, infrastructure as code, software design, and data structures.
• Experience with relational databases, including PostgreSQL, and SQL.
• Experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework, and testing with Mockito.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and continuous integration/continuous deployment tools.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
• Experience collaborating through Git, refining designs, writing tests, reviewing code, and managing pull requests.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and log analytics platforms, including Kibana.
• Experience with Temporal workflow orchestration.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid work from SoFi offices in Seattle, WA; part-time telecommuting is an option.
• Remote work from Hawaii, Alaska, or Puerto Rico cannot be accommodated.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual base salary: $200,000–$220,000, plus standard company benefits.
• Final base pay depends on experience, skills, and location.
