About Commure
At Commure, we're building the AI Operating System for healthcare, the foundation that defines how care is delivered, documented, and financed. Today, 500,000+ clinicians across 500+ healthcare organizations nationwide trust Commure to handle $25B+ in annual claims and support over 200 million patient interactions.
About the Role
We’re building a next-generation ambient AI platform for healthcare, helping clinicians focus on patient care by automatically capturing, understanding, and structuring clinical conversations in real time.
We’re hiring an iOS Engineer to help shape and build these experiences. You’ll own meaningful product areas from idea to launch, working closely with product, design, AI, and backend teams to turn emerging technology into intuitive, dependable mobile workflows. Our mobile application is primarily built in Flutter, with native Swift/iOS integrations where platform-specific capabilities are required.
What You’ll Do
- Build and own high-impact mobile experiences for clinicians, from early product exploration through launch, measurement, and iteration.
- Develop new interaction patterns for AI-native healthcare software, including real-time transcription, ambient documentation, AI-assisted review, multimodal inputs, and offline experiences.
- Work closely with clinicians, product managers, and designers to translate real-world workflows into mobile experiences.
- Partner with AI and backend engineers to bring model capabilities into production.
- Contribute across our Flutter application and native Swift/iOS integrations.
- Own the quality of what you ship, including performance, accessibility, reliability, analytics, testing, observability, and release readiness.
- Prototype quickly, learn from real usage, and refine experiences based on feedback.
- Help shape mobile product and technical strategy.
- Mentor other engineers and raise the bar for mobile engineering.
- Occasionally contribute to adjacent surfaces like web applications or Chrome extensions.
What You Have
- 4+ years of professional mobile development experience, with meaningful ownership of user-facing products or features.
- Deep experience in iOS or cross-platform mobile development.
- Strong native expertise in Swift/iOS, including platform conventions, app lifecycle, permissions, background execution, and performance.
- Experience working in or a willingness to ramp onto a Flutter-based codebase.
- A track record of taking mobile experiences from ambiguous ideas to polished, production-ready products.
- Strong product judgment and attention to interaction details, usability, performance, and overall craft.
- Understanding that reliability is part of the user experience (recording, connectivity, background execution, sensitive data).
- Experience collaborating closely with product, design, backend, data, or AI teams.
Nice to Haves
- Experience building AI-native, conversational, or real-time product experiences.
- Experience with audio or video capture, streaming, transcription, or background recording.
- Experience with offline-first applications, sync engines, resilient local persistence, or conflict handling.
- Flutter and Dart experience, including Riverpod or similar state-management patterns.
- Experience designing or contributing to mobile design systems and reusable component libraries.
- Familiarity with mobile experimentation, product analytics, and measuring feature adoption or usability.
- Experience improving startup time, responsiveness, memory usage, battery consumption, or crash rates.
- Experience with mobile observability, CI/CD, testing, release automation, or App Store and Play Store workflows.
- Exposure to healthcare, HIPAA, SOC 2, privacy, security, or other regulated environments.
- Light JavaScript, TypeScript, Chrome extension, or web application experience.
