Software Development Engineer III

About the Role

CLEAR is looking for Senior Fullstack Software Engineers to help build the next generation of our secure, networked digital identity platform across travel, enterprise, healthcare, financial services, and beyond.

As a Senior Software Engineer III, you'll own complex technical problems from design through deployment, partnering closely with Product, Design, Security, and Operations to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Level and team matching across Core Identity, CLEAR1, and CLEAR Travel will occur towards the end of the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Advance capabilities across a wide array of industries and domains with hands-on experience in privacy, security, data modeling, and architecture.
• Develop and deliver code across the full stack, driving engineering excellence by defining best practices in testing, documentation, and observability.
• Partner with product and other stakeholders to uncover requirements, innovate, and solve complex problems.
• Maintain a strong sense of ownership over architectural decision-making and continuous improvement of technology and processes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend software development experience in Java.
• Experience with cloud-based application development and fluency in cloud service providers like AWS.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with collaboration, integration, and deployment tools like GitHub, Argo, and Jenkins.
• Ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with and mentoring less experienced team members.
• Comfort with ambiguity and autonomous problem-solving.
