Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

Social Finance, LLC (SoFi) seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Seattle, WA. The role is hybrid from SoFi’s Seattle office, with part-time telecommuting available.

Responsibilities

• Build performant, scalable backend applications using object-oriented languages in a cloud-based microservice architecture.
• Help shape product technical architecture and own technical solutions for new product requirements.
• Deliver highly available, scalable production services.
• Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product management, operations, and peer technical teams to deliver impactful products.
• Mentor team members and foster a learning environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and three years of experience in the offered job or a related occupation.
• Any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience is acceptable.

Special Skill Requirements

• Java and Kotlin.
• AWS cloud services, such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and IAM: three years.
• Spring Boot.
• Messaging and streaming systems using Apache Kafka and AWS SQS: three years.
• Apache Airflow.
• TypeScript.
• Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK and CloudFormation: three years.
• API and service interface development using REST and gRPC: three years.
• CI/CD using CodePipeline and GitLab CI.
• Database management systems, including Postgres and DynamoDB: three years.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Workflow orchestration using AWS Step Functions or Temporal: three years.
• NB Testing.
• Operational excellence practices and monitoring and alerting tools, including Datadog or AWS CloudWatch: three years.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary: $200,000–$220,000, plus standard company benefits.
• Final base pay depends on experience, skills, and location.
